![]() ![]() That is, notwithstanding a less than 100% compatibility between Leopard and Apple's implementation of the 'boot camp' XP partition. I don't use boot camp, but the drivers for XP that work for the Unitor should work for the MT4. The latest version (for Leopard 10.5.7) of the Unitor8 driver (Jan 2010, v 2.5) supports the Unitor8, the AMT8 and the MT4. I ran Logic 5.51 under Windows XP, and used a Unitor8 with the XP USB drivers with no problems. But I suspect that a Snow Leopard start up drive with Boot Camp and Windows 7 will require some sort of drivers for this.Īny ideas?Any ideas, tips, head's up, words of warning, cautionary tales, etc with regards to running boot camp and Windows 7 with PC music software in general is welcome.PS: No, I am by no means abandoning Logic (far from it!). It's working fine on my current Mac Pro tower with OS 10.5.8. Does anyone by any long shot of a chance know if there is any way to get my Emagic MT 4 MIDI interface working in this environment. This makes it the only midi interface to have specific drivers written by Apple.Hi All,I'm contemplating jumping off into the deep dark unknown and setting up a partition with Snow Leopard and boot camp with the idea of loading Windows 7 on it along with some music software. On the other hand, They have maintained the usb drivers for the interface and do provide a version compiled for their latest Intel based OS X machines, and it can be installed from the Logic 8 discs, and from Garageband. It’s not a difficult task, especially given Apple’s resources. Considering the fact that Apple itself now owns the rights to the interface, I don’t feel there is any good reason for this situation. But since Apple acquired Emagic in 2002 they have abandoned writing a decent, non-crashing, well tested, modern (ie: for leopard), configuration application for them. ![]() Many Unitor/AMT 8’s are still running strong after 10 years of hard use! I know mine is, and I have no intention of replacing it. Nowadays you can Get a similar USB midi interface for much less money, but still very few offer the internal routing, device chaining, and filtering features that the Unitor8 or AMT8 offer. ![]() They were the top of the line with ultra low latency, and are extremely well built. The Emagic Unitor8 USB midi interfaces were expensive, but worth every cent. ![]()
